Every great while, my husband or I take our toddler on a dessert date. It may not sound like much but it means the world to our son. Even though our toddler is not a big sweets person (we have often wondered if he was switched at birth 😉 ), he loves the one on one time and his treat. Most recently, he got a strawberry mini-pie.
After finally deciding how to dig in, we enjoyed eating, talking and learning together. Learning? Yes, learning. During our dessert dates, we let him use a butter knife or talk about how ice cream is made or read up on strawberry growing. We also learn plenty about each other as it is a chance to slow down.
How do you enjoy the sweet part of life (and we’re not just talking about dessert)?
