Rice Krispie Treats – a childhood staple! These ooey gooey treats are a sensory and artistic cooking extravaganza! Toddlers can make them with minimal assistance and they can be molded, cut into shapes, or eaten with a spoon (whatever best fits the occasion).
In case you’ve never made Rice Krispie Treats with a toddler here is Rice Krispies 101:
1. Put the butter in a bowl and melt it in the microwave.
2. Add a bag of marshmallows to the butter. Melt them in the microwave too.
Stop the microwave half way through the time to stir.
3. Add the Rice Krispies and stir!
4. Smash into a buttered pan or mould into shapes.
If you smashed them into a pan, after they cool and set, you can cut them with a knife or cookie cutters.
5. Enjoy the gooeyness!
